Within the last 40 years, around 1/3 of the Sungazer lizard population has become extinct, indicating the need for urgent conservation intervention. However, conservation planning and implementation can only be effective with detailed knowledge of the species.
This is why scientific research is so vital in the conservation of the species and why Wild In Africa® are so proud to support the Sungazer Working Group who are working hard to learn how to best protect this vulnerable species.
